Once upon a time I was working the booth for Living Intentions at Expo West, and near the close of the show, when a pretty surfy guy comes up to me and politely asks if we might have a spare bag of our raw sprouted almonds that he could take home with him, I looked at him with his soft eyes and warm smile and immediately knew he was a soul man and a (very) conscious brother. I gave him the biggest bag we had and parted ways with his biz card, of which I promised to follow up as the proverbial fb friends.

Not only does he ride a roundtail, but he oft posts the most thoughtful and heartfelt commentary on his equally as mindblowing photos that pretty much litter his fb feed. One of his life ambitions is to create a food forest, and to that end he has taken steps in becoming a permaculturist. He’s a bit of a yogi, and one who really appreciates (sitting in) silence, and obviously holds some fairly sacred space within his heart and soul, body and mind. As he cultivates what he refers to as an inherent gratitude, I can’t help but be reminded of (Gerry) Lopez, and that this guy is someone who can take that torch and help hold space for the rest of us (here on spaceship earth). Needless to say we are in good hands with this man.
